Why You Need to Use More You

Do you know what’s the most important word in writing?

It’s “you.”

Address your readers directly.

Make every person feel as if you’re talking to them. If you make your readers feel like you’re talking to them, you’re much more likely to keep their attention. And if you keep their attention, you’re much more likely to keep them reading.

You probably wouldn’t have read this post if I hadn’t used the word “you” in the title. And you probably wouldn’t have read all the way until this section if I didn’t keep using the word “you.”

For reference, I’ve already used that word (or some variation of it) 13 times by now. See – it works.
